all documents missing

I installed (upgraded) to Beta Vista I have a compaq and my documents were under Compaq Ower Now every photo, document, download everything is missing Programs are there Do anyone know what is going own I have over 5000 pictures I can't lose

Check in the C:\Windows.old folder - they might be in there :o)
